Time to confess: it seems I am not the author of MBT after all...

Well, it appears that I am not the writer of the Monster-Blood Tattoo / The Foundling's Tale series after all.

Apparently - if you can credit it - it was THIS person!

It seems I have been tricking you all along - either that or I look remarkably like Michaela Conlin of the TV show Bones.

Maybe this is why I do not post upon this blog as often as would be good to do!

*Just for the record: I AM the author of Monster-Blood Tattoo / The Foundling's Tale series, what this other person is on about eludes me entirely - some form of online role-play perhaps? Anyone else got any idea?

Also, thankyou to all of you gave an opinion about the two word choices for rams: I will be using both: Achmë  for an over-gunned frigate, Lyonne (I agree that this is a better spelling) for an older standard gunned frigate... though Scion also is a rather good name... Hmmm...

I do not mind at all of the Looney Tunes association of Ach one bit - that is part of the fun of the whole process: taking s well used/context specific word and giving it a new handle to hook on to. Think on it: I gave a major character the name of an entire continent and managed to get away with that :D

I am shocked by this revelation of your double life David. I feel used!

The OOC (Out Of Character) bit makes me suspect this is some type of game character.

My thoughts exactly, locksmyth.

How can I make it up to you, MB? Perhaps we could ghost write each other's next novel?

I echo, hmmmm... I have role played a favorite author to the degree that I have several times taken the user name "Dostoevsky" when being required to create an account for some online service or other. On the other hand, that's as far as I've ever taken it - not to mention that everyone who knows who Dostoevsky is, also knows that he's dead. Whoever is doing this role playing, though, seems to be going all the way. How did you find out about this weird impersonation?

So do you talk in a "strange and exotic Australian slang"?

Roleplaying with fictional characters is fine, but roleplaying as normal, actual people? That's a bit odd, even for me.

Oh, and I like the name choices for the rams, DM! Achme as the name for the overgunned ship works, especially for the word's meaning.

I dunno, man ... "Bethia" apparently has 96 friends ... how can you compete with that? ;-)

Glad to hear the next Half Continent story is coming along. I'm hoping to read more about the kraulschwimmen this time!

What if that is the actual writer of MBT and her thoughts were simply transferred into Mr. Cornish's head?

Anyway, a question for you, Cap'n;
Will Sallow be appearing in your next book? As I've mentioned before, it seemed to me in the way that she was introduced in Foundling that she was going to be an important character, and I was a little disappointed when I was proven wrong.

I have done writing-based role-playing for many years and never come across this bizarre subspecies... Although as a person familiar with the format I can confirm that it is definitely that. I applaud you for taking it in such good humor, David. But we all know genius when we see it--- and only yours is authentic! ;)

I concur with above comments regarding the names. Lyonne puts me in mind if a stern, strong craft. If you were to use 'Scion' I suggest switching it with 'Achmë' due to the literal meaning of the former. (Am I over-analysing this? Oops.)

My nephew loves your books. Have you published anything else like activity books that are related. I'm trying to think of a birthday present for him. Regards. Leisa

Every once in while, when I know that I only have twenty minutes before I want to go to bed, or when I happen to eat dinner alone, I like to read some portion - often chosen at random - of a book that I particularly like. That way, when I'm ready to go to bed, or done with my meal, I can shut the book without the feeling that I just have to continue to find out what happens next. Factotum is one of those books.

But why not Foundling or Lamplighter? They're just as much fun and as beautifully written. I think that it's because when I read Factotum, it has the richness of what has already gone before it. And when I realized that, I wondered if any of your future novels of the Half Continent will wander in terms of times as well as in terms of location. Will there be stories of the history that Rosamund reads in his pamphlets? Will there be stories in which Europa, or the ever-living Rosumund will be figures of legend? I'm not saying that you should write such stories. There are probably a million stories you could tell, and you have to pick and chose. I'm just wondering IF you have thought of jumping time as well as place.

HAHAHA...

Yeah the first thing I noticed was that they used the same background design as I did on two of my livestream channels :D

I don't know what it is. False resume?

Seems a bit weird to fit into the context of some role playing scenario...

Anywho, HI! Been awhile.
