Out in public - Sydney Writer's Festival

For those who will be in Sydney-town on the 20th of this month (that being May and one week away) should know that I will be part of a panel discussing world building (of all things!) from 6:30 in the evening.

I shall be getting together with Stuart Mayne, editor of Aurealis magazine, David Kowalski author of The Company of the Dead, and Judith Ridge our erstwhile compare, who is - among other things - the Western Sydney Young People’s Literature Officer.

Further details are here.

Might see some of you there.

Just in case anyone is wondering, Lamplighter is just a little too cumbersome to read in the bath. It came very close to taking a dunking... I dread to think what state it would have been in after that! :)

I'm halfway though Lamplighter. It's absolutely brilliant!

Wish I could be there. Sad to say, the world we are on will be between us.

Hey there,

I'm looking forward to the event and will happily give a report of the occasion for those who'd be interested. I just picked up Foundling, hope to burn my way through it before the night!

Hey DM!
Hope all's great and the writing is going strong.
Just checking in to let you know I haven't forgotten you.
My wife and I are off to London this weekend-- while there, I'll look around for the British edition of LAMPLIGHTER and see it for myself.
all best,
Drew

Im am sorry to leave this here, i didnt know where else to place it. Mr. Cornish i almost want to say i hate you that i love your books so much. With the new addition of lamplighter my expierence of the book still the same if not more extrordinary. I felt anguish though when the book ended i must know what happends to Rossemundo, you have sucked me into the lamplighter just as the foundling, i know it is early, but when are your plans for book 3 to come around? Your writtings are not like any other, such extravogant detail, you made me cry, shout for joy, and angered me, and ive never felt feelings for such words. please give atleast some insight,, your book is so damn good!

Dear jazman, I am working on Book 3 even now and I have to admit to you that it might be some time before it is ready to be released. I want Book 3 to be as good as it possibly can be, and this, ufortunately, takes a long time.

Speaking of such things, Drew, I did hit a bit of a hurdle during April, but halelujah! I am on the trail to overcoming it. The stakes are high.

DM,
Glad to hear you overcame it. Usually hurdles are a sign you're grappling with something major, whether it seems that way or not.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, my friend.
